Description : "The DNA sequence of human chromosomes is not always unique, especially when only looking at short sequence fragments. Approximately 20 percent of the DNA is repetitive, which can cause problems for sequencing-based projects, as we cannot determine the true origin of a tag with confidence. This leads to ��Genomic Black Holes�� �V parts of the DNA that we cannot study with the same accuracy as the unique portions of the DNA. Some of the work our lab is doing will overcome the problem of these black holes in our analysis, effectively shrinking their size and reducing their impact. This image depicts a genomic black hole in human chromosome 21."
