Bright Sparks – designed to bring the best research and talent from Australian universities to a business audience at AMP’s Amplify Festival of innovation and thought leadership.
Anyone undertaking a PhD, or having completed their research since January 2012, can enter. 20 finalists all receive $1000 toward their research plus media and communications training to further their career. The competition culminates in a live pitch and performance night at The Basement, Sydney, where one winner will receive $5000 in prize money.
If you’re conducting PhD research in any field, we’d love for you to enter yourself. Alternatively or additionally, if you have channels to PhD candidates who you think ought to receive some recognition and support, we’d greatly appreciate you passing this on.
Just to reiterate, ALL 20 finalists receive $1000 plus media and communications training from James Valentine (ABC Radio National, Sunrise) and science communicator Daniel Keogh (Hungry Beast). Plus the pitch night will be MC’d by ‘Download this Show’ host and technology journo Marc Fennell.
The winner, finalists, and the organisations they are doing their research through will be profiled in the media throughout the program.
