As part of #Ask A Curator Day, Dr Geraldine Mate will be answering questions on air this afternoon with ABC Regional Radio. Photographer Gary Cranitch will also be on air today, chatting to Kelly Higgins-Devine on ABC 612 about his work as a photographer, specifically about the images he captured for the Great Barrier Reef Guide. Some of the images Gary captured as part of his work on the guide have won awards at the Australian Professional Photography Awards held over the weekend. Gary won two Silver Awards and one Silver with Distinction Award in the Science Nature and Environment category. The Great Barrier Reef: A Queensland Museum Discovery Guide was awarded a Silver with Distinction in the Photographic Book Category at the awards. The guide is available to purchase online.
